We are 2 weeks away from our 1 year anniversary, and we are so excited for the amount of revenue we've brought in in such a short amount of time. As we continue our passion of helping other small business owners excel, we want to share some habits that we've discovered on our own as well as from other successful business owners. These habits have led to $30,000 in revenue, over 100 clients, 4000 social media followers on Instagram and more!
Set Daily, Weekly & Monthly Goals
This is so important. Instead of getting caught up in the hype to make New Year's Resolutions for your business, start small by setting at least 3 goals each day. A good day is made up of a bunch of these small tasks. So whether that’s practicing a skill, completing part of a larger project, or hitting a daily quota, with the right daily goals, you’re building momentum and getting closer to reaching your larger goals every single day.
I started this habit as a Sales Executive for Oracle. I would write down 3 goals that I HAD to get done before the day ended. I also write down my quota. Now as Co-Owner of AI Marketing & Web Design, I write down my daily and monthly quota so that I can visualize what I want to do each day and each month to get closer my annual goal.
Wake Up Earlier
Let's be honest. We all can wake up a little earlier. I try to wake up at least 2 hours before my work day begins. This gives me time to workout, pray, meditate, and set my goals/intentions for the day. I also get what I consider "busy work" out the way in the last 20 minutes of this time. This includes responding to emails, text messages, and any other tedious task that needs to be done but has nothing to do with my goals for that day.
Waking up earlier is HARD and requires DEDICATION. The reward is great. Successful business owners get a tremendous amount of focused work done from about 5am to 7am. This helps to get ahead of the busy day that's sure to come.
Obsess over Service
This one is HUGE. One of the reason why our company is so successful is because we obsesses over the value and customer service we provide to our clients. We don't stop until our clients are satisfied. Leaving a customer unsatisfied is a neverending trap. They will tell a friend who tells 3 friends, and before you know it your brand is being tarnished all over social media. Do yourself a favor and treat your clients the way you would want to be treated if you were in their shoes.
Never Stop Learning
We have been able to add so many services because of our ability to continue learning more about Marketing & Web Design. Our clients ask questions and we are determined to figure out the answers. In our spare time, we take online courses, enroll in classes, read books and network with other business owners in our industry. Then, we are able to turn around and market this knowledge to our clients and potential clients.
There is always someone to learn from or something new to learn. Always. Don’t stop educating yourself and looking for learning lessons in every situation.
Take Time For Yourself
It's easy to give our all to our business, and that's awesome. Hard works pays off. On the contrary, it's just as important to take take for YOU. Take a walk outside. Read a book. Watch TV. Go on a date. Whatever it is that makes you happy, do that! Make sure you are enjoying your life just as much as you're building the business.
Sometimes in order to give 100%, you have to unplug. Burnout is real and it happens when you don’t take time for yourself so don’t let it happen to you. Schedule time for yourself.
